Mercy For Animals: a Tale of Two Systems

Omatic success stories, like the one we tell in our recently published piece about Mercy For Animals, are special. While literally thousands of organizations – happy Omatic customers – could certainly relate their data integration experiences, Mercy For Animals was among the first that used Omatic Cloud to effectively integrate two colossal nonprofit technology systems: Salesforce NPSP and Blackbaud Luminate Online.

The annual Mercy for Animals Gala is the organization’s event of the season. As the annual gala grew, it needed a more powerful event management system, driving the organization to deploy Luminate Online. But just as important to the Mercy for Animals team overall was the need for shared data. They needed key event participant and donor information from Luminate integrated with Salesforce, so that the organization’s employees and volunteers would have a unified view of supporter engagement.

The Difference Integration Has Made

Ed Paskin, Mercy for Animals’ global Salesforce admin, related to me in graphic detail what the data management team would have to go through if Omatic’s sophisticated data integration tools hadn’t been found. Between the reporting, exporting, adjusting, importing, and remediation of errors, hours would have been wasted each day.

Fortunately, Omatic’s Salesforce integration toolset for NPSP (powered by Omatic Cloud) was exactly what Ed and his team needed. The solution not only automated data exchange between the two systems, reducing effort and errors across the board. It also ensured that revenue was properly coded in Salesforce, and that donor acknowledgments were sent out within 48 hours.

And that’s just the beginning. Mercy For Animals is now taking advantage of Luminate Online’s TeamRaiser tools for peer-to-peer fundraising, and will continue to depend on Omatic Cloud for automated, and error-free, integration between the two – improving data quality and preventing data silos. Omatic will help the organization both integrate data effectively and be better stewards of their supporters and those relationships.
