New Features as of December 2024

1. Query as a Source

We’re excited to share that Query, the mechanism in Raiser’s Edge NXT for filtering group records by defined criteria, is now a data source in Omatic Cloud. This means you can use Query in Raiser’s Edge NXT to isolate constituent data and transfer it to a third-party platform using Omatic Cloud, without the need for manual imports.

This feature is a game-changer for audience segmentation. Imagine you want to send a thank you email to all the people who ran in your organization’s 5k fundraiser race. Instead of spending time pulling lists based on specific event activity codes, formatting spreadsheets, and importing data into your organization’s email marketing platform, Omatic Cloud can use data from Query to complete that request in one action. Pull your run participants using Query in Raiser’s Edge NXT, then send it directly to Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Salesforce Marketing Cloud—or any email marketing tool you have integrated—without a single manual import.

With Query as a data source in Omatic Cloud, your organization has more opportunities to experiment with customization. Create dynamic lists based on criteria like volunteer activity, donation history, or event attendance. As the data in Raiser’s Edge NXT changes, your email lists will update automatically. Send targeted impact reports, event invitations, solicitations, and more, using fresh data—without the need for custom email lists (or the extra strain on advancement services team members!)

2. Streamlined Tribute Imports

Previously, managing tribute giving data was a multi-step process for Omatic customers using our ImportOmatic plugin solution. For those using the plugin, importing tributes required up to three separate files: one for users to identify the gifts with tributes, another file with tribute constituent data, and, finally, a version with gifts along with the tribute constituent data to re-import. We heard from customers that this time-consuming procedure had opportunities for efficiency, so we made them a priority for improvement on our product roadmap.

Now, thanks to recent updates, users can import tribute gifts in one simple step in Omatic Cloud. Creating separate output files to reimport tribute information is no longer necessary; donations, tribute creation, and tribute linking all occur within one Omatic Cloud formula.

This straightforward process makes stewarding gifts made in honor or memory of another person much easier. With accurate, up-to-date tribute gift data, nonprofits can notify honorees or their families as soon as gifts occur, rather than once a month or once a quarter. Tribute gifts are some of the most sensitive forms of support an organization can receive, stewarding them quickly and accurately will be a boost for constituent trust.
