6-Part ImportOmatic Basics Training Series – April thru May

In this 6-part ImportOmatic training series, an Omatic Consultant and Instructor will provide training and insights into the key components of ImportOmatic:

  • Session 1: ImportOmatic Product Overview – Prep & Profile Creation
    This training will include an overview of the key components of ImportOmatic including Configuration, Profiles and Processing. During this training you will receive a demonstration of how to create a profile through processing your data, along with all other essentials for preparing to use ImportOmatic in conjunction with your Raiser’s Edge database.
  • Session 2: ImportOmatic Data Review Process 
    This training will include insights into the data review process that is necessary when considering creation of your ImportOmatic profiles. The three key areas covered include preparation and review of an import file, an overview of core profile functions in ImportOmatic related to the data review, and what to look out for and how to avoid potential data file issues. For this session, you are highly encouraged to bring questions regarding files you would like to build profiles for.
  • Session 3: ImportOmatic Mapping Review – Fields & Functions
    This training will provide guidance on mapping your profiles. Topics covered include an extensive review of available mapping fields and the functions associated with them, how to create virtual fields and utilizing the functions for these fields, test code functionality best practices to help you test your mapping and functions.
  • Session 4: ImportOmatic Profile Settings – Dictionaries & Duplicates
    This training includes an in-depth review of all available profile settings in ImportOmatic for standard data such as Constituents, Gifts, Actions, Relationships, Tribute and Prospect data (the events and membership modules will not be covered in this session). Settings reviewed will relate to data updates or changes such as duplicate criteria, updating existing records, adding additional data to records and saving exception files.
  • Session 5: ImportOmatic Import Processing & Profile Changes
    This training will include all of the options of processing an import, including examples of how to process files then make updates based on exceptions, how to update and review records throughout the import process and how to best decide if a profile update needs to be made. Both the validation and full import processes will also be discussed so that participants understand the differences and when each setting should be utilized.
  • Session 6: ImportOmatic Exception Handling 
    This training will include an in-depth review of typical and non-typical exceptions that can be received when running imports in ImportOmatic. A review of the exceptions file will be conducted to understand the root cause of the exception, where updates need to be made and how to utilize resources for exception handling. An overview of intentional exception creation and the multiple files created due to this will be reviewed.

Each session will provide approximately 90 minutes worth of content with the remaining time allocated for questions from users.


ImportOmatic Refresher Live Training

This training is for all user types, from beginner to those already experienced using ImportOmatic but in need of a refresher. During the training, an Omatic Consultant will cover the following aspects of the product: Access, Configuration Settings, Retrace and Much More! Cost: $149.99/person


Regular Expressions in ImportOmatic

March 21st at 2:00 p.m: Join us for a three-hour consulting session with Omatic Software Consultant, John Shephard.

During this training, you can expect to learn about the usage of regular expressions within IOM.  John will cover what regular expressions are and what they can and can’t do. He will walk through the most commonly used syntax and talk about how they can be used to make your import process more efficient. Cost: $299.99/person


Insights with Experts: GDPR Changes and You

March 29th at 1:00 p.m.: This session will review the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) changes that have been implemented within Raiser’s Edge and subsequent updates to ImportOmatic to support these changes, including import of consent records. During this webinar, our seasoned experts will review potential process options for your organization regarding these new settings.

ImportOmatic Address & Phone Setting Options

April 20th at 11:00 a.m.: In this session, Omatic Consultant Amy Barker will cover the settings within an ImportOmatic profile specific to addresses and phone numbers. She will review several examples of how changing these settings can effect your data processing, including how to set up Raiser’s Edge going forward. Amy will also walk through the processing of sample data to show examples of the level of interaction based on the settings changes.
