ImportOmatic Basics Training Series 

August: Tuesday the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th at 1:00 p.m. ET

In this 4-part ImportOmatic training series an Omatic Consultant and Instructor will provide training and insights into the key components of ImportOmatic:

  • Session 1: ImportOmatic Product Overview – Prep & Profile Creation and the Data Review Process 
    This training will include an overview of the key components of ImportOmatic including configuration, profiles and processing. During this training you will discover insights into the data review process that are necessary when considering creation of your ImportOmatic profiles. Other areas covered include preparation and review of an import file, an overview of core profile functions in ImportOmatic related to the data review, and what to look out for and how to avoid potential data file issues.
  • Session 2: ImportOmatic Mapping Review – Fields & Functions
    This training will provide guidance on mapping your profiles. Topics covered include an extensive review of available mapping fields and the functions associated with them, how to create and utilize virtual fields as well as test code functionality best practices to help you test your mapping and functions.
  • Session 3: ImportOmatic Profile Settings – Dictionaries & Duplicates
    This training includes an in-depth review of all available profile settings in ImportOmatic for standard data such as Constituents, Gifts, Actions, Relationships, Tribute and Prospect data (the events and membership modules will not be covered in this session). Settings reviewed will relate to data updates or changes such as duplicate criteria, updating existing records, adding additional data to records and saving exception files.
  • Session 4: ImportOmatic Import Processing Changes and Exception Handling 
    This training will include all of the options of processing an import, including examples of how to process files then make updates based on exceptions, how to update and review records throughout the import process and how to best decide if a profile update needs to be made. Both the validation and full import processes will also be discussed so that participants understand the differences and when each setting should be utilized. A review of the exceptions file will be conducted to understand the root cause of the exception, where updates need to be made and how to utilize resources for exception handling.

Each session will provide approximately two hours worth of content with the remaining time allocated for questions from users.

 

Importing Unique Types of Data Series

For Existing ImportOmatic Clients Only

In this 4-part series for ImportOmatic users, Omatic Consultant and Instructor, Allison Bolduc, will provide an in-depth training on specific types of imports. Each session will focus on a unique category including their specific preparation, multiple imports or special settings/mapping. Sessions will be two hours long and include demonstrations, practice sessions, and interaction with the consultant. Classes will begin promptly at 1:00 p.m. ET.

  • August 31st | Session 1: Event – Participants
    Session one will focus on importing data to the Events module, specifically Participant data. This will include all aspects of the participant record such as registration fees and other donations. Discussions and demonstrations of Sponsor records will be included within the two-hour session.
  • September 7th | Session 2: Relationships – Individual & Organizations
    Importing multiple relationships can be challenging. Join us for a two-hour session focused on importing Individual and Organization relationships where we will discuss IOM profile settings and scenarios for potential multi-pass imports.
  • September 14th | Session 3: Payment Schedules – Pledges & Recurring Gifts
    As organizations receive gifts they may be receiving pledges and payments at the same time as recurring gifts. Creating these gift records may require multi-pass imports and knowledge of the specific schedule fields that Raiser’s Edge requires. In this session, we will review the multi-pass process, discuss the schedule field requirements and review settings in the IOM profile to help the import process.
  • September 21st | Session 4: Multi Pass Imports – Tributes 
    Bringing in tribute data can be complex due to the structure that Raiser’s Edge requires for the Tribute module. During this two-hour session, we will review the required format within Raiser’s Edge and how IOM profiles need to be structured.  Settings options and mapping fields will also be discussed since they play an imperative role in the import process for Tribute data.

ImportOmatic Refresher Live Training

This training is for all user types, from beginner to those already experienced using ImportOmatic but in need of a refresher. During the training, an Omatic Consultant will cover the following aspects of the product: Access, Configuration Settings, Retrace and Much More! Cost: $149.99/person

 

List Management Refresher Live Training

Thursday, July 19th at 1:00 p.m. ET

The List Management Refresher Live Training is designed for existing users of List Management who would like to sharpen their skills and learn about recent updates to the product. This will be a 90-minute, interactive session to sharpen your skills with List Management. This training will be an overview of areas that are frequently used within the product such as: Task Sets & Workflows, List & List member functionality overview, Searching in lists, Exporting lists/members, and Creating/using queries within List Management! Cost: $149.99/person

 

Regular Expressions in ImportOmatic

Wednesday, August 22nd at 10:00 a.m. ET

Join us for a two and a half hour consulting session with Omatic Software Consultant, John Shephard. During this training, you can expect to learn about the usage of regular expressions within IOM.  John will cover what regular expressions are and what they can and can’t do. He will walk through the most commonly used syntax and talk about how they can be used to make your import process more efficient. Cost: $299.99/person

 

ImportOmatic Refresher: Importing Graduates/Alumni

Monday, August 6th at 9:00 a.m. ET

This training is for ImportOmatic users who are looking to import new graduates and alumni into their database. Refresh your memory with our importing best practices and get familiar with the latest updates to ImportOmatic that will enhance your overall process!

The training will be led by Omatic Software Consultant, Allison Bolduc. During the training, Allison will review and demonstrate the importing process with specific Alumni/Graduate data! Cost: $149.99/person

 

ImportOmatic for Database Maintenance & Cleanup

Monday, August 13th at 1:00 p.m. ET

Join us for a two-hour consulting session with Omatic Software Consultant, John Shephard.

This session will focus on areas of The Raiser’s Edge that typically fall out of alignment due to data entry or change in management of the database over time. Specific areas that will be discussed include addressee/salutations, tables, attributes, addresses, phones, names, and constituent codes. We will review how you can use settings within ImportOmatic profiles, dictionaries, and mapping to best align your data in these specific areas. This session only meant for those who have used ImportOmatic previously. Cost: $149.99/person
